At the 54th annual North American Maple Syrup Council (NAMSC) conference the Spring Break Maple Company walked away as winners across multiple categories.

Spring Break placed first in the Maple Candy Contest, second in the Maple Cream Contest, and third in both the Maple Sugar Contest and the Dark Amber Maple Syrup Contest.

“We’re so honored to be nationally recognized for our natural maple products”, Kristi Brannen said.

The Smyrna, Maine business is owned by Kristi and Kevin Brannen, and has been an area staple since 1998. Focusing on creating natural, eco-friendly products, Spring Break specializes in maple candies, syrups, and creams.

The event was held in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada, and had over 300 attendees. Spring Break competed against 14 states and four Canadian Provinces, and was able to showcase their award-winning products to maple producers across North America.

“The purpose of the NAMSC is to promote the best interests of the Maple Syrup Producers, to establish standards and to integrate industry standards of maple syrup and its derived products”, Brannen said.

Those who attended the four-day NAMSC event were able to experience trade shows, educational and technical workshops, along with tours of the Hopewell Rocks and the Bay of Fundy Coast.
